A single fashion executive who loves to entertain wanted a contemporary space that still gives off warmth. The existing house had a choice view but was neglected and had relatively low ceilings. Using floor to ceiling front and back doors, and consistent flooring, allows him to open up the space from front to back, where lounge seating and fire elements keep everyone warm and comfortable. Texture and pattern in the tile and stone are an important part of the aesthetic. We used onyx, turquoise, quartzite and marble from several slab yards and worked with the fabricator to maximize their natural beauty. Custom storage for the client’s wine and sports memorabilia collection, and a dining room table/pool table make this space personal and fun.
